4WD Tours

Haven’t got your own wheels, want to see more of what Bunbury has to offer? Well you’re in luck with the Hostel’s very own in-house 4WD Tour bus.

Sensational Skirfing

Sun, sea and…skirfing is the order of the day here. As we let down the tyres, switch to four-wheel drive and hit the soft stuff (sand) we’ll take you for a bounce along the beautiful beach at Capel. Here is where the fun starts, beach volleyball, beach cricket, extreme-boules(!), sun bathing, swimming, snorkeling, the infamous Wander Inn relay and of course ‘skirfing’. Fasten on your life jacket, strap yourself into the kneeboard and hang on tight as you skim the waves as you’re taken for the ride of your life.

The Fantastic Ferguson

This tour has it all: wine tasting, sports, nature and gnomes! Join us as we head into the nearby Ferguson Valley and spend a few hours traveling through stunning countryside and impressive bush. To get things warmed up we’ll stop off at a couple of wineries and see if you know the difference between a good local Merlot and a Chardonnay (hint: it’s in the colour!). Then we’ll move off-road and head down some bush tracks as we make our way to the impressive Wellington Dam. From here we’ll stop at the world famous (still awaiting a Heritage Listing) ‘Gnomesville’, where more wine will be consumed. Finally we move on to the newest craze to hit the South West, Disc Golf. See if you can get a hole in one with a Frisbee instead of a ball. (hint: close your eyes!)

F-U-Nature

If you want to experience nature as well as the fun on the beach then this is the tour for you. This time we head to Buffalo Beach, a 20 minute drive along the sand gets us to a secluded area known to the dolphins as “The Lounge”. That’s because this is where they like to hang out, play, fish, surf and generally chill out. 100% sighting so far… Once again we can swim, play beach volleyball and cricket, sun bathe, enjoy more wine and take part in The Wander Inn games and relays. On the way back we stop off at the home of about 100 wild kangaroos for photos.

You’ve probably guessed by now that there is a hell of a lot of things to see around Bunbury, so why not grab some pals (or some strangers) and choose your own adventure! Go see wild dolphins at the cut, swing by Wellington dam and the honeymoon pools, go out to Collie, sightsee around Dunsborough – even Margaret River is accessible from here! Taste cheese in Harvey, drink wine till you fall over, or see something really amazing by snorkeling or diving the busselton jetty!
